A few weeks before the wedding, Tim, Olivia and I sat in a café in Kyneton and spoke for about 2 hours about all the things that mattered to us. Tim is really into sustainable building and it was something that we were spending a lot of time talking about in our own house as we prepared for our home to be renovated. What we spoke about could really have been anything but at its heart, it was a connection and sharing of our values and the way that we believed the world should be. I left our meeting feeling so energised and buzzing about seeing them at their wedding a few weeks later.

But in classic Melbourne style, March gave us her best and the city blazed at thirty-eight degrees that day with the heat slowing time to a gentle sway. In the shade, in the sun, in the hum of a bar later that afternoon, they moved through it together, grounded, present, and entirely at home in each other’s company. Or perhaps it was their sweat sticking them together.
